Mortgages in Spain
How to get a home loan for Spain
Mortgages or home loans (hipotecas) are available from most Spanish banks (for residents and non-residents), foreign banks in Spain, and overseas and offshore banks. In recent years, Spanish and foreign lenders have arranged a record number of spanish mortgages, the average amount borrowed being around 250000
The amount you can borrow depends on various factors such as your income, trade or profession, whether you’re an employee or self-employed, and whether you’re married, and if so, whether your partner works. Lenders may also have a maximum lending limit based on a percentage of your income, but this isn’t required by law.
Most banks offer mortgages of up to 8 per cent, although non-residents can usually borrow a maximum of 60 per cent only. To obtain a mortgage from a Spanish bank, you must usually provide proof of your monthly income and major outgoings (e.g. loans or commitments). There are no self-assessment mortgages such as in the UK and mortgages without proof of income (although advertised in the expatriate press) are difficult to find and virtually non-existent. If you want a Spanish mortgage to buy a property for commercial purposes, you must provide a detailed business plan in Spanish. Note that a mortgage can be assumed by the new owner (called subrogación) when a property is sold, which is a common practice in Spain.

Javea Villas The Jewel Of Costa Blanca
by guest on Dec.19, 2009, under Blog
Even though we’ve listened repeatedly to friends recommending Javea has the holiday “Jewel of the Costas” and read reports by The World Health Organisation that Javea on the Costa Blanca is one of the world’s healthiest places to be, I’ve come to the conclusion that I should have travelled to this beautiful location a long time ago!
Searching the web for accommodation in Javea wasn’t easy, particularly as our exacting standards meant that we really needed a Private property. We scanned for Villa rentals in the Javea area where we discovered some excellent villa Javea websites.
Javea’s development over the years from a small fishing village to a quality well laid out vacation resort featuring three areas, the old town of El Pueblo, the port area known as Aduanas del Mar and the beach area of Arenal. Rentin Javea offered plenty to choose from in all locations including many “off the beaten track” beauty spots.
We chose an outstanding Javea villas with great views of the Montgo Mountain and lots of green gardens. Private and peaceful with facilities that were second to none, car hire was recommended,|Privacy was a feature we like and combined with excellent facilities made our peaceful retreat the type of holiday you just can’t forget for all the right reasons. A car rental was included} enabling us to alternate the peace and tranquillity of villa life with the various and diverse attractions Javea had to offer us, including, luckily enough for the men in our party a choice of over half a dozen Golf Courses
As a result we have a lovely holiday photo album of an amazing adventure and have also began recommending Javea as the Jewel of the Costa Blanca.
Torrevieja To Denia On The Costa Blanca
by guest on Jul.15, 2009, under Blog
Southern Spain is famed for the Costa Blanca Coast, why not travel with us along the route from Denia to Torrevieja and everywhere in between. The Costa Blanca, with its wonderful beaches attracts millions of tourists every year. In the north the Costa Blanca starts with Denia and Javea two wonderful towns at the bottom of a mountain.Elche, Guardamar and Torrevieja define the southern end of the Costa Blanca Coast. The wonderful city of Elche is famous for its vast amount of palm trees
You can basically travel along the Costa Blanca as the carretera national goes all way alongside the coast. Make sure when you come along these beautiful small villages that you have enough time for a stay. There are many attractions alongside the the Costa Blanca Coast, some of them specially for tourists like the entertainment park Terra Mitica at Benidorm or the bays of Altea and Calpe. Others are smaller towns and villages like Villajoyosa just south of Benidorm, famous for its old town and its chocolate.
To me the biggest beauty of the Costa Blanca comes from the seaside. The beaches and villages that line the Costa Blanca coast give it a unique beauty that is not found elsewhere in the world. Further north along with Gandia and Oliva between Moraira, Benissa, Teulada and Denia you will find the city of Javea, with the Cabo de la Nao, one of the most popular places on the Costa Blanca.
Real Estate is big business on the Costa Blanca. If you are looking to do more than rent accommodation when you visit the Costa Blanca you will find many properties available for you to buy as permanent holiday accommodation. If you decide that this could be for you why not rent an apartment in the area to use as a base for your viewing. Apartment rentals in Valencia are easy to obtain without having to spend too much money. We look forward to welcoming you to one of the friendliest places in Europe, Hasta Pronto!
